OYT Machining’s Flat End Mills are engineered for superior performance in precision machining applications, delivering exceptional cutting stability and surface finish across stainless steel, quenched steel, and high-hardness materials. Featuring a 90° tip angle and flat bottom design, these mills enable high-speed, high-precision operations with optimized cutting parameters—such as 80–120 m/min for stainless steel and 60–100 m/min for mold steels—while maintaining tool longevity through sub-micron carbide substrates (HV1900 hardness) and TiAlN coatings.
With a deep technical foundation and a spirit of continuous innovation, Taizhou OYT has steadily advanced in the industry. The company boasts an experienced R&D team dedicated to exploring and improving tool materials, structures, and manufacturing processes. The flat end shank milling cutter produced by the company features a 90-degree tip angle and a flat bottom surface. In milling operations, it can achieve high-precision cutting on steel, stainless steel, and quenched parts, with significant cutting depth and feed rate, resulting in a smooth and flat surface with extremely high precision. From mold manufacturing to the processing of precision components, OYT's Flat End Mill plays a crucial role.
OYT Machining stands out for its commitment to material innovation and process optimization. Each mill is crafted from cobalt-enhanced carbide (≥10% Co) with a bending strength of 3800 MPa, ensuring resilience against thermal and mechanical stresses during deep-cut milling. The brand’s R&D-driven designs, including helical edge geometries and stress-balanced flutes, reduce tool wear by 30% compared to conventional mills. For procurement teams prioritizing cost-effectiveness, OYT offers bulk discounts and customizable tool geometries tailored to specific applications, such as T-slot milling or contouring in SKD11 steel.

OYT Flat End Mill, a fundamental cutting tool in the field of mechanical processing, demonstrates stable and reliable performance in machining stainless steel, steel parts, quenched components, and high-hardness materials due to its classic straight or helical edge design. Made from sub-micron hard alloy with a cobalt content of at least 10%, it boasts a hardness exceeding HV1900 and a bending strength of 3800MPa. Through optimized cutting processes and innovative material science, it achieves a balance between processing efficiency and tool life.
For 304 and 316 stainless steel, the recommended cutting speed is 80-120m/min, with each tooth feed 0.05-0.12mm/z, and the side cutting depth should not exceed 50% of the tool diameter to prevent work hardening. When machining quenched steel, a lower spindle speed (40-80m/min) and a smaller cutting depth (0.1-0.3mm) are recommended, along with a high rigidity fixture to minimize tool wear. For high-hardness mold steels (such as SKD11 and H13), TiAlN coated tools are preferred, with a cutting speed of 60-100m/min to avoid chipping caused by excessive feed.
The OYT Flat End Mill is commonly used for machining horizontal or inclined surfaces. It can quickly remove a large amount of material using the end face cutting edge, achieving efficient surface leveling. The side cutting edge enables precise cutting, ensuring the verticality and surface finish of structures such as side walls, cavities, and steps, whether they are processed vertically or at an angle. When milling closed or open grooves, such as keyways and T-slots, the 30°helix angle of the OYT Flat End Mill optimizes stress distribution, reducing the risk of vibration during stainless steel processing and effectively preventing tool breakage. In contour milling, for complex surfaces, mold cavities, and irregular contours, the flat-head vertical milling cutter can achieve high-precision contour milling through precise path control, providing a critical processing method for mold manufacturing and aerospace industries. Compared to turning and drilling, the OYT Flat End Mill uses multi-edge rotary cutting, which can achieve higher processing efficiency and superior surface quality.
